Cursillo prays for the ACC Covid-19 Bereavement Support Group

Norwich Anglican Cursillo dedicated prayer group will be praying these prayers during the week of Monday 6th July 2020

Open wide our hearts Lord to receive Your every present gift of Love. We ask that this love be especially strong for all those working, in Your name, caring for Covid-19 patients and supporting the families of those who have died. Spread your wings of comfort over all who mourn, bringing them to the attention of the Bereavement Support Team who can guide and comfort the many troubled by distress at this difficult time.

Lord we pray for all who work in Your name

Lord many in the NHS have experienced daily traumatic experiences as they watch patient died without the comfort of family or friends. Daily they decompartmentalise these events and move on, but eventually they will need the support of others to overcome the mental stress this will cause. You, Lord can bring peace to a troubled heart, but need your disciples on the ground to carry Your message to the many. May those disciples working in the Bereavement Support System be given all opportunity to help all in the NHS and may the organisations be willing to refer those in need. Lord we reach out to You for Your gifts of grace, love, and peace.

Lord we pray for all who work in Your name

Each day a team of people support all who seek their care, but Lord I ask that You bring a gentle peace to their hearts, enable them to find a small space of tranquillity in a world full of pain, sadness and loss. A word of kindness, a grateful smile, the handshake from a supported widow or widower, someone able to move on remembering only the good things and not racked with guilt because they were not there when their loved passed on. All these things the team strive to achieve should give them peace in times of stress, encouragement that they are achieving their goal and the knowledge that their kindness, all done in the name of You lord, will be remembered long after the hurt has receded.

Lord we pray for all who work in Your name

Heavenly father, we thank you for the work of the counsellors, their dedication and commitment, fortitude and resolve. We ask You to continue to bless them as their workload increases and they are confronted with the trauma that is being suffered by those affected by Covid-19.

Lord we pray for all who work in Your name

We pray too for those affected by the loss of loved ones and for those whose memories are raw at present. Give them courage and strength to carry on, knowing that You are there to walk alongside them. Keep them, and their families, close to You as they seek meaning from their situation. We thank you for calling good hearted people to become companions and listeners to those in need.

Lord we pray for all who work in Your name

Lord, as this pandemic unfolds and its effects are becoming more apparent, we continue to seek Your help in identifying another Case Manager to be able to share the heavy load being experienced at the moment. We thank You for the work already being undertaken and ask Your blessing on the search.

Lord we pray for all who work in Your name

Lord we ask that You bless everyone involved in this endeavour with Your Holy Spirit as they continue Your saving work. We thank you Lord that the world is full of people  with such generosity of spirit willing to undertake these difficult tasks may they be blessed with you wonderful gift of love and may they see you in all they do.

 Amen.
