Today is the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the NHS. As we are aware, this last 4 months have been the most challenging in the history of the NHS and every indication is that they have responded magnificently throughout the Coronavirus crisis . (We continue to pray for the efforts of everyone towards minimising the possibility of a 2nd outbreak and need to be aware that the virus is still very much with us. ).
This evening we will be joining in with the national remembrance of those who have lost their lives during the pandemic which we will mark by putting a light in our window, or on our doorsteps.
On Sunday at 5 pm there will be a national “Clap for Carers” very much in the style of those we took part in several weeks ago. Members of the Secretariat as well as members of our 4th Day Community will be joining in with this event and we encourage everyone to join in with us. It is emphasised that this event is not just to thank NHS staff but to all those who care or have been looking after our well-being in so many ways.
We ask that you keep to social distancing and mitigation guidelines as we continue to move out of lockdown.

We give You thanks, Almighty God, for all the benefits You have given us. You who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
