Bereavement support prayers for the week 22nd – 27th June.
Father we give thanks for the work of those who act as Case Managers. We give thanks that they are committed and dedicated to this work. We recognise that there are a great many demands on the Service and there are many calls on their time and resources.
Father, was ask that You call more people to this ministry at this time when they are so badly needed. We ask that You pour Your Holy Spirit into their hearts that they may discern their vocation to this work. In Jesus name….. Amen.
Heavenly Father we thank You for Your protection of those who are on the “front line” in our fight against Covid-19 and we are sure that Your care for us will continue wherever our circumstances may be. We offer the members of the Counselling Team before You Lord, certain that Your loving embrace may enfold them as they work. Keep them well in body, mind, and spirit during this time when their clients need their continuing work. In Jesus name we ask this…. Amen.
Father just as you like to hear our prayers, others like to hear what people have to say. Encourage all to give helpful feedback enabling the team to know they are reaching those who need their support and that they are achieving their goals in a supportive and positive way. Lord we ask that you enable all to hear your word and feel your strength through those that work in your name helping all those families that pass their way. … Amen
Lord we know that you give only to those who can carry the burden the most devastating trials and difficulties. During these demanding of times, both for the bereaved families and the teams supporting them, we ask for your guidance Lord. May the team find support from their fellow members as they support others. We ask Lord that you give each the patience to hear and understand without finding it all to over whelming and difficult.
We pray at this time for the counsellors themselves. For fortitude and persistence in difficult circumstances. For their continued wellbeing. For wisdom and courage to give reassurance and comfort to those who are bereaved. For their own stamina and knowledge, that they may prove equal to the task that lies before them. We give thanks Lord for the work that You have called them to do and for them to have stepped up to the challenge. In Jesus name…. Amen
May the team’s feet carry them to all who need you,
May their bones have the strength to support them through all trials.
May their arms be ready to support those that fall in despair.
May their hearts be steadfast in love and understanding,
May their mouth never be short of loving words
May no request go unheard.
May their ears hear the call of help from all who reach out to them,
May their eyes shine with Your love so other see You through them
May their smile bring peace to all in despair.
May their heads hear Your voice, so they know You are always with them
May their bodies cast a shadow that continues to show their love for You long after they have moved away.
Through You, with You and for You, their work is always to praise Your name…. Amen
Go before us Lord, in all our doings, with thy most gracious favour and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy Name, and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP Communion Service)
