Norwich Anglican Cursillo Cross

Norwich Cursillo 4th day Community enjoy an Ultreya and welcome newly fledged Cursillistas into their midst.

Saturday 16th March saw Cursillistas assemble at Holy Trinity Church in Norwich to welcome participants from the recent Norwich #13 weekend and to enjoy worship and fellowship together.

Led by our Lay Director, Barbara Harrold, the event began with singing accompanied by resident organist Chris. Jenny Ferns gave the Witness Talk which described the persistence of her school friend over several years eventually leading her to make her Cursillo at Lincoln. Jenny went on to describe how she had been inspired to take up the Call and work in her community and with Cursillo particularly in the field of catering. (We can of course testify to this after the splendid supper and lunch at the BACC Council meeting last November which Jenny and her team prepared and served.)

In the absence of our SD, Revd Jane Atkins, Revd Phil Charlsworth gave the SD’s response and both were well received by the attentive congregation.

Prayers for the community followed, in particular for our brother Alan who is unwell at the moment. Our Prayers for his on going condition are elicited.

An unexpected twist was the handing over of the Lay Rector’s bell to Jeanie Feneron (LR for Norwich #13) by retiring Lay Rector Mandy Davison. Those of us who have made our Cursillo will know of the authority of the lay Rector and how the bell is an essential item of their equipment.

A further period of sung worship led us into a Floating Group Reunion where we shared our current spiritual journey with others.

A splendid buffet lunch provided by NAC and served up by Mandy and her helpers gave us another opportunity to share fellowship and friendship.

All in all an inspiring event from which I’m sure we all gained some impetus to quicken our many ministries.

Don’t forget…………….. Our next Ultreya will be at Taverham in July. See our calendar at:
