Last week NAC Secretariat were made aware that Peter and Julie Bates will be leaving their present parish at Geldeston near Beccles and move to pastures new in north Lincolnshire. As some of you have been aware, Julie and Peter have overcome many difficulties during their ministry at Geldeston and after much prayer and a careful consideration of the present position have decided that our Lord has called them to leave the parish and allow others to carry on the work they have started.
Peter and Julie will be moving to Lincolnshire in mid to late April and so we wish them well as they take up a new challenge there. We know that there is an active Cursillo group in the Wolds area of Lincolnshire and we are confident that they will both be welcomed into the 4th Day community where they will live. We are sure that Norwich’s loss will be Lincoln’s gain. Both Peter and Julie have been considerable assets to Cursillo in Norwich Diocese and we have much to thank them for.
Peter has already said that he will continue to support NAC in our efforts to hold the BACC Full Council meeting in November this year and the National Ultreya in 2021.
In the meantime, Secretariat are active in seeking a new Lay Director and it is hoped to be able to appoint someone quite quickly.
We are confident that all members of the NAC 4th Day community will join with us in thanking Peter and Julie for their past efforts on our behalf and also to wish them well in their new life in Lincolnshire. We are sure that this will not be the last we hear of Peter and Julie, good friends of Cursillo and tireless workers for the furtherance of our mission in Norfolk and elsewhere.
